Devendra Fadnavis Officially Launches BJP Campaign For BMC Elections

Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, officially launched the BJP Campaign for the upcoming civic polls, on August 20. Taking a dig at the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, Devendra said, "the BJP, which won a record 82 seats, could have won the mayoral election also. But we took two steps back for our ally [the Sena]" Furthermore, the Eknath Shinde-BJP alliance said, they will win the BMC elections.

Mumbai Will Be Potholes Free In Next 2 Years, Says CM Eknath Shinde

The new Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde promised potholes-free roads in Mumbai, in the next two years. The announcement came after his meeting with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC,) on July 23.  Furthermore, the meeting was scheduled in view of the traffic jams and deaths reported due to potholes during the monsoon season. The major development is said to be in the view of the BMC elections, scheduled in October-November 2022.

SC Directs Maha Govt To Release BMC Elections Date In 1 Week

In a review, the Top Court ordered the Maharashtra Government to announce the dates for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. On May 4, the Supreme Court said that the dates for the BMC elections is pending and should be announced within a week now. The elections were pending amid the pending OBC reservation approval. In regard to this, the SC said, "constitutionality of this order will be heard later."
