Two Held For Possessing Beef In Jharkhand
Two were held by the Jharkhand's East Singhbhum district police for possessing 500 kg of beef on August 10. Reportedly, both the accused were caught when they were traveling from Bistupur to Dhatkidih carrying beef and were charged under the Jharkhand Bovine Animal Prohibition of Slaughter Act, 2005. Police also seized Rs 40,000 in cash. Meanwhile, the slaughter of Bovine animals is banned in Jharkhand.
