Muhammad Ali's Drawings To Be Auctioned Next Week In New York

The drawings of late Muhammad Ali, a prominent boxer, are set to be auctioned in New York next week. The collection of the drawings include cartoon-style art, some reflect Ali in the ring and some are even signed. A painting called "sting like a Bee" drawn by Ali in 1978 during the filming of "Freedom Road", may fetch $40,000-$60,000. Reportedly, no one knew Ali was an artist too.

Boxer Amir Khan Accuses American Airlines Of 'Unfair Treatment'

British Boxer Amir Khan posted a video on Twitter on September 18 where he was seen accusing American Airlines of unfair treatment by forcing him to leave and miss his scheduled flight. He added that he felt "disgusted" by the unfair treatment. However, American Airlines stated that Khan was only escorted out of the airplane because he violated Covid-19 guidelines and his mask was not "high enough".

4 Indian Boxers Qualified For Semi-Finals In Asian Youth Championship

Following the day of mixed results, four Indian boxers have advanced to the semifinals of the Asian Youth Boxing Championship in Dubai. It's the first time that both junior and youth boxers (both genders) will compete in the continental championship. In the quarterfinals on August 23, seven Indians stepped into the ring, and four of them succeeded. In the youth category, the gold medallist will be awarded $6,000.

Olympian Vijender Joins Farmers' Protest, Warns To Return Khel Ratna

Olympian boxer Vijender Singh has voiced his support for the farmers protesting against the Farm laws. He said that if the government failed to repeal the 'black laws', he would return his Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. Vijender, who contested the 2019 Lok Sabha on a Congress ticket, is one among the sportspeople who have joined the protest. Recently, former sportspersons have decided to return their awards condemning the bills.
