Amid the boycott parliament inauguration cry of opposition, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appealed to all the opposition to attend the inauguration ceremony, on May 28. "We all respect the President, I don't want to drag the post of the President into any controversy today by recalling what Congress said about her. But India's prime minister is also an important part of Parliament," said BJP to the opposition.

Amid certain clauses of the media rights tender, top broadcasters like Star, Sony, Viacom and Zee are reportedly set to boycott ICC Media Rights mock auction, scheduled on August 16-17. In the latest development, China threatened the United States against ''countermeasures'' as the US politicians demanded a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics. Hollywood actor Johnny Depp claims that the industry is boycotting him after he lost the case over an article in 'The Sun' that called him a "wife-beater".
