In a bizarre incident, a bride in Uttar Pradesh chased his groom and make sure that he marries her. Notably, in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly, when a couple who were in a relationship for two and a half years, finally decided to get married. However, the groom allegedly refused to tie the knot and denied to wedding. The bride took control, chased her partner and brought him back to mandap.

Nasar Thootha, a man based in Kerala, is getting recognition in media reports for running a ''wedding dress bank'' for girls who cannot afford expensive wedding dresses. Thootha, who's a taxi driver, said that he started the charitable venture in April 2020. He says ''he's just a channel'' to provide dresses to poor girls which he receives from the donation. So far, Thootha helped 260 brides free of cost. 

In Rajasthan's Ranoli village, Sikar district, a family allowed their daughter, Kritika Saini, to ride a horse to mark the pre-wedding ritual of 'Bandori' to promote gender equality in society. The incident was reported on November 29 and Saini also wore a sherwani, a pagdi. Reportedly, she is a fashion designer and had designed the sherwani by herself. Kritika got married to Manish Saini on December 1. 

Anjali Kanwar from Rajasthan, during her wedding, urged her father that the money put aside for her dowry should be used to build a girls' hostel, according to a storey published by Dainik Bhaskar. Shiv Kumar, a resident of the Kishanganj district in Bihar carried his newly-wed bride on his shoulder in order to cross the Kainkai river. The groom, along with the other wedding guests got stuck in the river due to the shallow water level while returning home. ''I had no option... no alternate route to reach my home,'' said the groom. Meanwhile, the video went viral over social media.
