Mayawati's Blunt Respond To Congress's Alliance Allegations In UP
Reacting to the statement of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the BSP Chief Mayawati said, "Rahul Gandhi's allegations of BSP being afraid of BJP and that they asked us about the alliance and offered CM post to me and that I didn't respond is outrightly fallacious". The statement came after Gandhi's allegations that BSP denied alliance for 2022 UP polls. Mayawati further said Congress needs to worry about itself.

BSP Chief Mayawati To Start Poll Campaign From Feburary: Punjab
Ahead of the Punjab elections, BSP chief Mayawati will start her election campaign on February 8. The party President Jasvir Singh Garhi said, the BSP chief will address a rally at Nawanshahr. "The BSP-SAD alliance would free, Punjab from the mis-rule of the Congress Party," Garhi said. Meanwhile, Mayawati will not contest the UP elections and help others to win the polls. Notably, Punjab elections are scheduled for February 20.

BSP MLA Ramveer Upadhyay Joins BJP Ahead Of 2022 UP Assembly Polls
Former BSP State Minister and MLA Ramveer Upadhyay on January 15, have joined the BJP in Agra "We will make the BJP retain power in the state," said MLA's son Chirag Upadhyay. In addition, first list has been released with 107 candidates, including 21 new candidates, 44 seats for OBC candidates, 10 seats for women and 19 seats for SC. Reportedly, the seven-phased UP elections are scheduled from February 10.

2 Sitting MLAs From BSP, BJP Join Samajwadi Party: UP Election
Ahead of the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, two sitting MLAs of the BJP and the BSP joined the Samajwadi Party on December 12. Vinay Shankar Tiwari (BSP) and Digvijay Narayana alias Ajay Chaubey (BJP) MLAs of Chillapur and Khalilabad constituency, respectively, joined the SP in presence of the Party President Akhilesh Yadav. Besides, many Brahmin leaders from different political parties joined the SP.

SAD To Make Deputy CM From BSP If Wins 2022 Punjab Election
Sukhbir Singh Badal, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president, said his party will make deputy chief minister from SAD's alliance partner Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) if it comes to power in Punjab on December 10. SAD has planned to contest 97 seats while BSP will fight on 20 out of the total 117 seats, reported ANI. Notably, Congress had won 77 seats in 2017, followed by AAP, SAD, and BJP.

BSP To Not Attend Constitution Day Celebration; Criticizes Centre
The Mayawati led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) announced to stay away from the Constitution Day Celebration, on November 26. The BSP President lashed out the Central Government and asked to mull if they are following the Indian Constitution, which has not reached to the minorities, the SCs and STs. Mayawati said, the Centre does not have "Moral right to celebrate the Constitution Day" and should apologize to the citizens.

Congress Not To Fight UP Polls In Alliance, Says Priyanka Gandhi
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on November 14 said that her party will not contest in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election on all 403 seats in alliance with any party. Shiromani Akali Dal Unveils 3 New Candidates For Punjab Election
Ahead of the Punjab Assembly election, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on November 13 announced three new candidates for the election. The new announcement has increased SAD's candidate list to 83 out of 97 candidates who will fight for it. Three new names include Sunita Chaudhary who will fight from the Balachaur seat, Jaspal Singh Bitu Chatha from Patiala Rural seat, Bachittar Singh Khohar from Shahkot seat.
