Indian Army Major Anoop Mishra has successfully developed the world’s first flexible bulletproof jacket 'Shakti' that be worn by both women and men. The universal ballistic jacket has been designed to absorb the impact of bullets and reduce their penetration to the human torso. Earlier, Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik had appreciated the vest that is capable of protecting the personnel from explosives.

Companies manufacturing army bulletproof jackets in India import raw materials from China as they are cheaper and there are no quality concerns yet said Niti Aayog member and former DRDO chief VK Saraswat. He added, ÔÇ£if we find the Chinese material is not up to the mark, then we will have to say, as of now there is no such report".
