RBI Announces Wholesale Central Bank Digital Currency
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is planning to extend wholesale Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) as a token for interbank borrowing or call money market, RBI sources said on Tuesday. The pilot in the wholesale segment, known as the Digital Rupee -Wholesale (e₹-W), was launched on November 1, 2022, with the use case being limited to the settlement of secondary market transactions in government securities.

A Bengaluru techie Riti Kumari rejected 13 job offers to do a six-month internship at Walmart and is now earning Rs 20 lakhs per annum. 21-year-old Riti received job offers from TCS, Infosys, and Wipro with an offered salary of Rs 17 lakh per annum, but she settled with Walmart, with Rs 85,000 stipend, following her instinct. Zomato Revenue Increased To 20 Million, First Ever Quarterly Profit
India's Zomato reported its first quarterly profit on Thursday, helped by a tax gain and strong orders on its food delivery and quick commerce platforms. The company reported a profit of 20 million rupees ($241,861.37) for the quarter ended June 30. Zomato, which also runs grocery delivery service Blinkit, said consolidated revenue from operations rose 70.9% to 24.16 billion rupees in the first quarter.

Rupee Gains By 14 Paise, Stands At 98.74 Against US Dollars
The rupee gained 14 paise to 81.67 against the US dollar in early trade on July 25, tracking the weakness of the American currency in the overseas market. However, a surge in crude oil prices capped sharp gains for the local unit, forex traders said. At the interbank foreign exchange, the domestic unit opened at 81.74, then touched a high of 81.67 against the American currency.
