Traders Association Request Year-Long Transition Phase To Abide With Ban On Single-Use Plastics

Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on July 3 requested Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav a one-year grace period to abide by the ban on single-use plastics that went into force on July 1. It offered suggestions in order to safeguard those working in the industry. CAIT Vows Centre To Restore MSME Tag For 8 Cr Traders

Following the withdrawal of MSME status from nearly eight crore wholesale traders and retailers, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has urged the Centre to restore the tag. Reportedly, Rs 3 lakh crore disbursed by banking institutions under Priority Sector Lending (PSL) scheme will stand out to lose the tag. Moreover, banks might fail to meet the PSL target, which requires them to lend at 40% of total loans.
