After the Calcutta High Court handed over the Hanshkali Gang-Rape case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI,) the team visited the region, in Nadia district for the probe. As per ANI, the CFSL team collected samples of the accused from her residence. Notably, a 14-year-old was allegedly gang-raped by a TMC leader earlier in April. However, Mamata Banerjee called it love affair and demanded evidence, to prove the crime.

To investigate the Birbhum Violence Case, the BJP formed a five-member committee, which submitted its report to the BJP National President JP Nadda. On March 30, the fact-finding committee, which recently visited Birbhum, West Bengal, and probed the killings of eight people, after the political outrage amid TMC leader's murder. Meanwhile, the Calcutta HC directed the WB SIT to hand over the case to the CBI, which named 21 accused.

Owing to the menace of COVID-19 infection, the Calcutta High Court on October 1 declared the no-entry zones to the area where Durga Puja pandals would be erected across the state. Reportedly, the court had also issued a similar order last year to stop the crowd from gathering near pandals.
