Rohit Sharma Records 19 Consecutive Victories As Captain After Winning T20I Against England

Indian captain Rohit Sharma won his 19th consecutive men's international match as captain on July 9. Rohit achieved this achievement during Team India's 49-run triumph against England in the second T20I at Edgbaston. Rohit is now one win away from matching former Australia captain Ricky Ponting's total of 20 victories. With 14 victories as a captain, the skipper presently holds the record for most wins as a captain in T20Is.

Former Indian Hockey Captain Charanjit Singh Dies Of Cardiac Arrest

Legendary hockey player and former Indian captain Charanjit Singh, who represented India as captain in 1964 Tokyo Olympics gold medal-winning team, died on January 27 in Himachal Pradesh, after suffering a cardiac arrest, that followed prolonged illnesses. He was 90 years old, and was paralysed after suffering a stroke five years back. Singh is survived by two sons and one daughter. Reportedly, his last rites are yet to be performed.
