The government will require automakers to include at least six airbags in vehicles that can accommodate up to eight passengers, according to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. According to the minister, there are over five lakh accidents nationwide each year that result in the deaths of close to 1.5 lakh persons. He also disclosed that he will shortly launch Bharat NCAP, a new vehicle evaluation program for India. 

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI) has stated that third-party insurance premiums would be increased beginning June 1. The increase in the premium impacts the on-road pricing of new and old vehicles. The increase in insurance premiums will only affect motorbikes with displacements greater than 150 cc. Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd in China, launched a battery swap service for electric vehicles. The service 'would allow' drivers to change batteries in car in just a minute. The stations, to swap battery, will be established in ten cities of China, while the service can be accessed through an app. The official said service allows drivers to swap out consumed battery block for freshly charged at its stations.

'RRR' star Ram Charan went viral on social media as he purchased his first Mercedes Maybach GLS600 customized version on September 12, worth Rs 4 crore. Earlier, Jr NTR, who is also Charan's co-star in 'RRR', bought India's first Lamborghini Urus Graphite Capsule. Tata Motor’s Tigor EV has been launched on August 31, pricing from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 13.14 lakh. It is a battery-powered car available in two colour options. A total of 306 km can be covered by the car on a single charge. The car can be charged using a fast charger or 15A home socket. Moreover, EV generates 73.75 hp of power with 170Nm of torque.
