Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Urges PM Modi To Take Call On Caste-Based Census

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar leading the delegation of 10 parties, including the opposition RJD, met with PM Narendra Modi on August 23 in Bihar, demanding a caste-based census in India. 127th Constitution Amendment Bill Assures States, UTs To Prepare Own OBC Lists

To empower the OBC communities, the Lok Sabha passed the 127th constitution Amendment Bill 2021 on August 9. Surprisingly, none of the opposition was against it, thus was passed by all the 385 members. The bill provides freedom to states and UTs to form their own OBC lists. All 671 OBCs “will be benefited now" will the passing of the bill, said Virendra Kumar, Social Justice, and Empowerment Minister.
