The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday arrested three employees of the Indian Railways in connection with the horrific train accident in Odisha's Balasore last month that killed more than 293 people, and left over 1,000 injured. Shekar Suman Meets Bihar CM, Demands CBI Probe For MIssing Brother-In-Law

TV Actor Shekhar Suman complained about his missing brother-in-law and met with the Bihar CM and demanded a CBI probe. Notably, Suman's brother-in-law Dr Sanjay Kumar is allegedly missing for the past 22 days, and have not received any extortion call. Concerned about the situation, Shekhar Suman met Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and demanded a CBI probe, saying the Patna Police is also clueless about his whereabouts.

CBI Arrests SSC Former Chairperson Subiresh Bhattacharya

In the West Bengal SSC scam, former chairman of SSC Subiresh Bhattacharya has been arrested by the CBI in the recruitment corruption case.  The arrest came days after CBI raids were conducted at Subiresh's residence, whereas the arrest was due to inconsistency in his statement and further investigation. Notably, Subiresh Bhattacharya, who has been named in the SSC came was chairperson between 2014-2018.

Crores Stolen Through Provident Fund In Mumbai Office, Inquiry Set Up

Six employees of a regional office in Mumbai's Kandivali were charged with defrauding the EPFO (Employees' Provident Fund Organization) for Rs 21 crore using the dormant provident fund accounts. The EPFO Mumbai office after auditing the incident has decided to survey and examine all the PF transactions at all field offices across India. All six people involved have been suspended. Meanwhile, a CBI inquiry is underway.

CVC Reports 1,239 Cases Pending Before CBI Till December 2019

Central Vigilance Commission’s annual report pointed to pendency of 744 CBI cases for over a year. Reportedly, total 1,239 investigations were pending till December 2019. CBI, Forensic Experts to Recreate Crime Scene in Sushant's Death Case

Soon after the Supreme Court's verdict, the CBI's SIT has taken control of Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. The team arrived at Mumbai on August 20. Doctor Sudhir Gupta, a forensic expert well-known during Sheena Bora case, is also part of the team. Reportedly, the team will recreate the crime scene, examining forensic and post-mortem report, with an aim to classify the case as suicide or murder.
