Shankaracharya Jayanti Celebrations Kick Off In Srinagar

ITBP Himveers Perform Yoga At 15,000 Feet In Himalayan Mountains
The Himveers of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) performed yoga at a height of 15,000 feet in the snow-capped Himalayan mountains. The ITBP noted that the yoga session was organised in view of the fast-approaching International Yoga Day. The International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on the 21st of June. 'Yog Utsav' was observed this year at the Red Fort earlier this on 7th April.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the 90th Sivagiri Pilgrimage Anniversary and the Golden Jubilee of Brahma Vidhyalaya. Both, the Sivagiri Pilgrimage and the Brahma Vidhyalaya, were set up under Shri Narayana Guru. What had started off as a small pilgrimage in 1933, has turned into a prominent event with the participation of lakhs of devotees every year. The Brahma Vidhyalaya offers a course on Indian philosophy.

Odisha Celebrates 'Lanka Podi Jatra' Festival; Streets Brighten Up
Residents of Odisha took to the streets to mark the end of the 12-day 'Lanka Podi Jatra' festival on April 20. Several events from the 'Ramayana' are enacted every year, as a part of the celebrations. A local said that he loves how the celebrants dance and sing during the festivities. Sikh Jatha Group Leaves For Lahore Ahead Of Baisakhi
A contingent of Sikh Jatha has left Punjab for Pakistan, to celebrate Baisakhi in Lahore. One of the devotees rued that out of the 900 visa permit applications, only 705 permits could be approved, and hence, some devotees would miss the chance of Guru Drashan. Another pilgrim expressed the need for unity between the two neighbouring countries, and a relaxation in visa-related requirements.

Indian Navy All Set For Presidential Fleet Review On Feb 21
President Ram Nath Kovind will review the Indian Navy’s fleet at the Presidential Fleet Review 2022 on February 21 off the Visakhapatnam coast in Andhra Pradesh. The review will commemorate India’s 75th year of Independence, celebrated as 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'. Around 60 ships and submarines, and 55 aircraft are scheduled to participate in the review. Notably, INS Sumitra will lead the Presidential Column.

Hasanamba Festival Begins, To Go On Till Nov 6: Karnataka
The annual Hasanamba festival at the Hasanamba Temple in Karnataka's Hassan started on October 29. The festival is likely to go on till November 6, 2021. Reportedly, only elected representatives and officers were allowed to enter the temple on the first day due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Furthermore, devotees are allowed to enter everyday, except the last day. Besides, the temple gates opened in the presence of officials.

Chhath Puja Can Publically be Celebrated In Delhi: Deputy CM
Ending all the speculation, Delhi's Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on October 27 announced in a tweet that Chhath Puja can publically be celebrated in Delhi at pre-decided venues. However, he further said the devotees have to follow COVID-19 protocols to ''protect themselves from the virus''. Reportedly, the announcement came after the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) removed its ban on the public celebration of September 30.
