In a relief to homosexual, the Supreme Court on Thursday asked the Centre to find a way to give same-sex couples basic social benefits, like joint bank accounts or nominating a partner in insurance policies, even without legal recognition of their marital status. The statement came during an ongoing hearing into a bunch of PILs filed in the Top Court, seeking legal validation for same-sex marriage in India.

The Union Law Ministry transferred two judges of the Andhra Pradesh HC and Telangana HC. On March 23, the Central Government issued an official notice, transferring Justice D Nagarjun of Telangana HC and Justice Battu Devanand of Andhra Pradesh HC to the Madras High Court.
