Centre said on July 24 that a 34-year-old man from Delhi with no history of overseas travel had tested positive for monkeypox virus, making him the fourth instance of the disease identified in India. "A high-level review of the situation has been planned by the Directorate General of Health Sciences at 3 pm Sunday," the Ministry of Health said. Three cases of monkeypox have previously been documented in Kerala.

Supreme Court granted the Centre permission to continue providing protection to businessman Mukesh Ambani and his family in Mumbai on July 22. A bench accepted the Central Government's appeal against the Tripura High Court's decision on a PIL.
