J&K Soon To House World's Highest Railway Bridge On River Chenab
Jammu and Kashmir will soon house the world's highest railway bridge, an infrastructural marvel arching over river Chenab. Christened as 'Chenab Bridge', the Konkan Railway's upcoming "engineering milestone" will also be India's first cable-stayed railway bridge. Govt Approves 850 MW Ratle Power Project On Chenab River In J&K
Despite Pakistan’s objection, the Centre on January 20 approved the 850-megawatt Ratle hydro-power project on the river Chenab in J&K. The project was long-pending for the go-ahead as former PM Manmohan Singh had laid its foundation in 2013 but the Pakistan government citing breach of the Indus Water Treaty approached the World Bank against it.
