Chhath Puja Can Publically be Celebrated In Delhi: Deputy CM

Ending all the speculation, Delhi's Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on October 27 announced in a tweet that Chhath Puja can publically be celebrated in Delhi at pre-decided venues. However, he further said the devotees have to follow COVID-19 protocols to ''protect themselves from the virus''. Reportedly, the announcement came after the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) removed its ban on the public celebration of September 30.

Red Flag to 'Chhath Puja' Near Water Bodies: Jharkhand Govt

Jharkhand government issued a notice stating that this year due to the pandemic, "Chhath Puja", will not be allowed near water-bodies. The notice read, "Due to the fixed timing of performing the rituals, it is not possible to ensure social-distancing". People bathing in common-water was also a concern. "Chhath Puja", mainly celebrated in Bihar, Jharkhand, and in areas of UP will be observed on November 20.
