Mob Thrash Mentally-Challenged Man Mistaking Him For Child Abductor: Chhattisgarh

In Chhattisgarh’s Durg, a mentally-challenged man who was mistaken for a child abductor, got thrashed by a mob, on October 7, informed Assistant Superintendent of Police. The police have reportedly rescued him and provided him with adequate treatment. Family Of 4 Arrested For Cow Slaughter In Chhattisgarh’s Manendragarh

In Chhattisgarh’s Manendragarh, police arrested four persons for allegedly slaughtering cow. Reportedly the accused belonged to the same family. The police have also confiscated the weapon, with which the slaughter was committed. The police upon reaching the spot, found the cow’s carcass. A case has been filed against the accused under Cruelty to Animals Act. The police further stated that the family hail from Uttar Pradesh’s Allahabad.

6 Persons Drown In Chhattisgarh’s Ramdaha Waterfall; 1 Rescued

In Chhattisgarh’s Koriya district, six persons died by way of drowning in the Ramdaha waterfall, while one person was rescued on August 28. District Magistrate Kuldeep Sharma stated that all were residents of Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli. Soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched, and officials were able to retrieve the bodies of the deceased, and rescue one person who was drowning.

Two bogies of Shivnath Express train derailed at Chhattisgarh’s Dongargarh, on August 23. The train was on its way to Maharashtra’s Nagpur, and no casualties have been reported in the incident. Also, since the train was moving at a slow pace, no passengers were injured in the incident. Family Of 5 Dead After House Wall Collapses In Chhattisgarh

In Chhattisgarh, a house wall collapsed on Bastar's Kanker, killing a family of five, on August 15. The incident occurred when the victim's were asleep in their mud house in Irpanar village in Pakhanjore area. The deceased include three children and their parents. Following the incident, district collector and SP rushed to the spot. It is suspected that heavy rains caused such an unfortunate incident.

CRPF Commando Drowns In River While Trying To Rescue Comrade: Chhattisgarh

CRPF Commando Suraj R (27), passed away by way of drowning, while trying to rescue assistant commandant from getting washed away in a river. Suraj hailed from Kerala's Kollam, and was posted in Chhattisgarh's Sukma. The incident occurred while they were returning from an anti-maoist operation in Sukma. Chandan, the official Suraj tried to save, was rescued. "He saved me and I can never forget his smiling face," said Chandan.

Chhattisgarh Govt Orders 'Sample Checking' Of Passengers Arriving At State Borders: COVID-19

Chhattisgarh government has announced to start checking the samples of passengers traveling into the state, in view of rising number of COVID-19 cases in the state. The samples will be checked at airports and state borders. Reportedly, an antigen test will first be done, and if found positive, an RT PCR test will be done. The state of Chhattisgarh reported 125 Coronavirus cases on June 27.
