Delhi HC To Review Petition Demanding NEET 2022 Postponement
The Delhi High Court agreed to hear a petition filed, demanding postponement of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2022. On July 13, the plea was presented before the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, who listed the matter for an urgent hearing on July 14. In the petition, the students mentioned the inadequate time given to prepare for the medical entrance exam (NEET) scheduled for July 17.

Justice Satish Chandra Sharma Takes Over As Chief Justice Of Delhi HC
Former Telangana HC Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma took oath as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, on June 28. Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena administered the oath to Sharma at the Raj Nivas, in a small ceremony. Notably, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, AAP MLAs, leaders and Delhi HC officials attended the event. Furthermore, Justice Satish Chandra Sharma took over, after former CJ DN Patel's retirement.

CJI Ramana To Chair 39th Conference Of Chief Justices
The Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana, is set to chair the 39th conference of the Chief Justices of High Courts across the country on 29th April. The conference is being organised on the premises of the apex court. This event is being held after six years. CJI NV Ramana is expected to evaluate the justice delivery system in India, and announce certain measures for improvement.

SC Collegium Recommends 8 Names For Chief Justice Post In HCs
The three-member collegium headed by Chief Justice of India, N V Ramana has recommended eight names to the Centre to appoint them as chief justices of different high courts in India, media reports said on September 17. Cow Should Be Declared As National Animal Of India: Allahabad HC
Hearing a bail petition, Allahabad High Court's Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav has requested the government to declare 'cow' as a National Animal. Claiming the 'Fundamental Right of Hindus', Kumar urged the central govt to pass a bill that will protect the cows in the country. "Scientists believe that the cow is the only animal that inhales oxygen and exhales oxygen too,” said Justice Kumar.

Central Government Awaits Recommendations To Fill Vacancies In SC and HCs
The Centre awaits recommendations for major judicial vacancies at the Supreme Court and High courts. The SC has seven vacancies with the first arising after Justice Ranjan Gogoi retired in November 2019 as the Chief Justice of India. However, Kolkata and Allahabad's HC are run by acting Chief Justices at the moment. Moreover, the Chief Justices of Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh HC to retire in May and June respectively.

Telangana HC Gets Justice Hima Kohli As First Woman Chief Justice
Former Delhi High Court Judge Hima Kohli became the first woman chief justice of Telangana on January 7. The oath-taking ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan and was attended Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, CM K Chandrashekhar Rao, Union Minister of State (Home) G Kishan Reddy and other dignitaries of the state. As per reports, the outgoing Chief Justice RS Chauhan has been transferred to Uttarakhand High Court.
