Anupam Kher's 'The Kashmir Files' Is Now Tax-Free In Karnataka

The Kashmir Files is now tax-free in four states Karnataka, Haryana, MP and Gujarat. On March 13, Karnataka CM Bommai also called the film to be "blood-curdling" and sent good wishes to the director. CM of Haryana and MP also praised and encouraged everyone to watch the movie. Recently, director Agnihotri and wife actress Pallavi Joshi met Modi where they were congratulated the team and about the film.

South Indian Actor Sanchari Vijay To Receive Full State Funeral

Kannada actor Sanchari Vijay, died after sustaining significant brain injuries in a car accident. Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa thanked Vijay's family, on Twitter, for donating his organs. As a mark of gratitude, the CM said that the National Award-winning actor will be honoured with a state funeral with police honours. However, the doctors declared the 38-year-old actor brain dead, on June 14.

Karnataka CM Yediyurappa Denies Any Decision On Lockdown Extension

Announcing the 'Baalaseva' scheme for the children who lost their parents to COVID-19, Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa denied any decisions on extending the ongoing lockdown in the state. Citing the on-going strict Covid-19 regulations in the state, the Chief Minister said, if people follow the protocols, there will be no need to extend the lockdown. Meanwhile, the state is currently undergoing strict lockdown till June 7.

OxyBus Launched In Bengaluru To Help COVID-19 Patients

To help COVID-19 patients, Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa on May 11 launched the ‘OxyBus’ initiative. The makeshift buses fitted with piped oxygen supplies can support eight patients at a time. CM Yediyurappa said “20 such units will be set up near Govt Hospitals and Triage Centres in Bengaluru, and more units will be set up across the state." The initiative is to ensure transparency and timely medical help, he added.

Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa Tests COVID Positive for the Second Time in 8 Months

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa tested positive for COVID-19, on April 16. The report came out hours after he conducted a meeting with the state officials to discuss COVID situation in Karnataka. He requested those who have come in close contact with him recently to exercise self-quarantine. Notably, the 78-year-old CM had tested positive for the first time in August 2020.

Karnataka: Gadkari Inaugurates Works For Highways Worth Rs 323 Crore

Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari virtually laid stones for two national highway projects in Karnataka on January 16. The Rs 323 crore projects will include an elevated corridor and widening of NH road into a four-lane highway to reduce travel time in the Hubballi-Dharwad region. Besides, the project will enhance road safety and reduce pollution. Besides, Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa was also present in the virtual inauguration.
