Data from the country's apex child rights body revealed that 721 children in 11 states and union territories contracted covid-19 in Child Care Institutions (CCI). Reportedly, out of the 721 cases, 686 contracted the virus in 2021. As per the data, 288 cases were reported from Haryana, 149 from Tamil Nadu and 131 from Bihar. Also, UP recorded the most number of cases in 2020.
