46 Children Rescued; UP Police Raids Several Child Labour Establishments
Nearly 46 child laborers were reportedly rescued by officials in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur district on August 28. Child Labour Case Hits 160 Million In Last Four Years, Reports Says
World Day Against Child Labour is celebrated on June 12, and this day holds a special significance in India. “The pandemic has led to an increase in child labor globally,” Union Minister of Health & Family welfare Harsh Vardhan tweeted. As per the report of International Labour Organization and UNICEF, the child labour has risen to 160 million in the last four years.

NGO Legal Rights Observatory has filed a complaint against American popstar Rihanna's cosmetics brand 'Fenty Beauty' for allegedly promoting child labour in India. Gujarat Assembly Passes Bill To Increase Fine On People Employing Children
Gujarat Assembly on September 23 passed the 'Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Bill, 2020. With this, people employing children will now be fined Rs 1,00,000. The bill has also removed the need for the District Magistrate to intervene, and have vested powers to Municipal Commissioners to take appropriate actions.
