Indian Air Force on December 9, retrieved critical equipment of the Mi-17V5 helicopter that crashed in Tamil Nadu on December 8. The Flight Data Recorder and the Cockpit Voice Recorder of the chopper have been recovered. CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others lost their lives in the military helicopter crash. Rajnath Singh stated that the inquiry of the case will be led by Air Marshal Manavendra Singh.
Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin paid a floral tribute on December 9, to Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and others who died in the chopper crash, at Madras Regimental Centre. Those who died in military helicopter crash were brought to Madras Regimental Centre on December 8 from Military Hospital. General Rawat, his wife and 11 others were travelling from Sulur to Wellington when the chopper crashed.
Tamil Nadu's Forensic Science Department, headed by Director Srinivasan's team reached the chopper crash site on December 9. CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others were killed on December 8, in an IAF Mi-17V5 chopper crash in Tamil Nadu. Earlier in the day, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari reached the chopper crash site along with DGP C Sylendra Babu. An order has been given for the matter's inquiry.
