Ahead of the Christmas, the Assam Rifles trooper erected a Christmas star, measuring 47-feet tall at Lunglei in Mizoram, said officials on December 13. The star is said to be the largest in the northeastern region. The Assam Rifles called it ''a beacon of hope with an aim to spread a message of togetherness for the local populace''.
