Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin Assures To Act For Citizenship To Sri Lankan Tamil Refugees
Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin assured that steps will be taken to arrange citizenship status for the Sri Lankan Tamils seeking refuge at rehabilitation camps in the state. Over a Tweet, Stalin said that the government is taking concrete steps to improve the lives of the Sri Lankan Tamils. "It is the way do life of the Tamils to welcome and treat everyone equally," he said.

70% Pakistani Awaits Indian Citizenship, Says Union MHA Minister
At least 70% Pakistani awaits Indian citizenship, said the Ministry of Home Affairs, on December 22. MHA Minister Nityanand Rai said, a total of 7,306 people applied for citizenship from Pakistan, 1,152 applications are from Afghanistan, 428 states are stateless, 223 from Sri Lanka and the US, 189 from Nepal, 161 from Bangladesh and 10 from China. Notably, all the 10,635 applicants, applied for citizenship till December 14 2021.

6 Lakh+ Indians Give Up Citizenship During 2015-19; Study, Job Key Reasons
The Home Ministry has disclosed that over six lakh Indians gave up their citizenship during 2015-19 in favour of securing citizenship of another nation. Addressing the Lok Sabha on February 9, Union Minister Nityanand Rai added that 1,24,99,395 Indian nationals currently live in foreign countries. The Time magazine has included 82-year-old Bilkis, who was one of the “dadis” to lead the anti-CAA protests at Shaheen Bagh in “100 Most Influential People of 2020”. The article, penned by journalist Rana Ayyub, states that Bilkis did not move from the protest site despite cold winters and fear from CAA supporters. She inspired thousands of others including students and leaders to join the protests, staying in roadside tents for months.
