Erik Solheim Shares Innovative Idea For Solar Panel Plantation: South Korea

South Korea's Green Party Minister Erik Solheim shared a minute long video showing solar panels in the middle of a Highway. In his tweet, Erik emphasised on how the country can produce clean energy, protecting bicyclists from sun and traffic. However, the tweet which was shared on March 2, gained 1,384 retweets. India Gets First Plant To Convert High Ash Coal To Methanol

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) established India's first pilot plant to convert high ash coal to methanol in Hyderabad, said the Ministry of Science and Technology on September 17. The plant can generate 0.25 metric tons per day. Reportedly, coal is converted into 99% pure methanol and can be used as a transportation fuel. ''This technology will help the country move towards clean energy and self-reliance," said the Ministry.

B'luru: Kempegowda International Airport Becomes Net Energy Neutral

The Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore has met its target of achieving the energy neutrality by FY 2020-21. As per airport operator BIAL, KIA has met its 98% energy needs through renewable sources. Besides, it has managed to save 22 lakh units of energy as well. The airport authority cited increased installation of solar panels and wind power units as a reason behind the achievement.
