Clinical Test Confirms Cancer-Eradicating Medicine For 'First Time In History'

A clinical experiment found that after six months of using a medication, 12 individuals with rectal cancer had no symptoms of tumor. The medicine Dostarlimab was used in trial at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), New York. This is "the first time this has happened in the history of cancer," said Dr. Luis A. Diaz J., MSKCC. Researchers said the medicine seemed beneficial, but a larger-scale experiment is required.

Covaxin's Phase-3 Trial Results Out, Claims To Be 77.8% Effective

Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech has released the phase-3 clinical trial results of "Covaxin" on July 3, claiming it to be 77.8% successful. Moreover, the company said that it provides 63.6% protection to asymptomatic COVID-19 patients and is 65.2% effective against the SARS-CoV-2 & B.1.617.2 Delta variant. J&J Puts COVID-19 Vaccine Trials On Hold After Participant Reports Illness

Johnson & Johnson's clinical trials for a COVID-19 vaccine have been halted after an illness reported by one of the participants of the trial. Though the company has not revealed the exact nature of the illness, it has said that the illness is being reviewed by an independent board and their physicians. Experts opine that such incidents are common during the trials of a vaccine.
