Sikkim Cloudburst, Flash Incident: 40 People Died, Over 3,000 Stuck

At least 40 people, including seven Armymen, have died in the Sikkim flash floods and the Army is carrying out extensive rescue operations for thousands stranded in the deluge. Downstream search-and-rescue teams recovered more bodies overnight as the waters cut a swathe through the countryside towards the Bay of Bengal. Around 3,000 people are stranded in Lachen and Lachung. 3,150 people who have gone there on motorcycles are also stuck.

Cloudburst In North Sikkim, 30 Missing And Search Operation Is Underway

At least 30 people were reported missing in flash floods triggered by a glacial lake outburst in north Sikkim late on October 3, night. The sudden cloudburst created havoc amongst people, in Sikkim, and the situation is likely to worsen in the region. "The exact number of people who have gone missing is still not confirmed. We are gathering details," said concerned officials. Meanwhile, a search operation is underway.

Cloud Burst Over Lhonak Lake In North Sikkim, 23 Army Personnel Missing

Ah sudden cloudburst occurred, leading to flash floods in Teesta River in Lachen Valley, North Sikkim. Some army establishments along the valley have been affected and efforts are on to confirm details. Furthermore,  if sources to beleive, 23 Indian Army personnel have been reported missing and some vehicles are reported submerged under the slush. Search operations are underway. Himachal Pradesh Rains: 7 Died In Cloudburst In Solan, CM Orders Rescue Operation

The heavy rainfall, landslide, and cloudburst have created a ruckus in Himachal Pradesh. In the past 24 hours, seven people died amid a cloudburst in Solan district and at least nine died in a landslide incident reported near Shiv Temple, in Uttarakhand. CM condemned the deaths and asked the concerned officials to start the rescue operation, as many are feared trapped under the debris.

Telangana CM KCR Alleges Foreign Conspiracy Behind Cloudbursts In India

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, popularly known as KCR, has made a significant comment on the weather disasters. As per KCR, cloudbursts are being purposely developed in parts of India such as Ladakh and Kashmir as part of a "foreign conspiracy." Rao went on to say that he has got "gloomy, gloomy" information that countries are now focussing their attention on the Godavari region for additional cloudbursts.

Cloudburst Causes Landslide In Nainital; Five Reported Dead

Owing to the landslide triggered by cloudburst in Nainital's Ramgarh village in Uttarkhand, a few persons have reportedly been trapped under the debris on October 19. Police and government officials have arrived on the scene. However, the rescue team has saved a person and recovered five dead bodies so far. Besides, the district's lake has overflowed, flooding the streets and causing damage to infrastructure and homes.

4 Dead & Many Missing After Cloudburst In Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh district on August 30 was hit by a cloudburst due to which debris and muck hit several houses in the area. At least four people have died while seven others are feared dead and many missing. ''We have surveyed the village by helicopter and sent SDRF and NDRF teams along with police and revenue teams to run relief and rescue work," Pithoragarh DM Ashish Chauhan said.

Cloudburst In Jammu Kills Four, Over 30 Missing

At least four people have died and 30 were reported missing after a cloudburst hit a remote village in the Kishtwar district of J&K. "Four bodies have been recovered from the debris and 8-9 houses have been damaged following cloudburst at Honzar village in Kishtwar," the deputy commissioner, Ashok Kumar Sharma said. Indian Air Force rushed to the Honzar village to assist local teams in the rescue operation.
