CM Bommai Hands Over Cheque Of Rs 25 Lakh To Kin Of MBBS Student Killed In Ukraine
Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai handed over a Rs 25 lakh cheque to the final year MBBS student Naveen Shekharappa family who died in war-torn Ukraine, on March 5. He also assured a job for a family member. "Naveen's body will be brought back here as soon as possible. I'm constantly in touch with foreign minister S Jaishankar and officials," said Bommai. Shekharappa was a medical student at Kharkiv National Medical University.

Karnataka CM Bommai Meets Ashwini Vaishnaw, Seeks More Rakes For Coal Supply
Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on February 7 and discussed seeking more rakes for the supply of coal. On delay in implementation of central projects in the state, he said, "Talks are on over issues related to land acquisitions, railway projects are being implemented." He further added that funds were not released at one go. Meanwhile, the CM also met Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

Karnataka Govt Plans To Impose Night Curfew To Curb Omicron Spread
In view of the rising number of COVID-19 Omciron variant cases, the Karnataka government is set to impose a night curfew for 10 days in the state, starting from December 28. The curfew will start from 10 pm and will end at 5 am. The decision came after CM Basavaraj Bommai chaired a high-level meeting with cabinet colleagues and other officials. Besides, the government banned all New Year parties.
