Jharkhand Govt Announces Rs 5 Lakh Ex-Gratia To Deogarh Accident Victims
During a high-level meeting, the Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren announced Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to the victims of Deogarh accident and Lohardaga violence. On April 12, CM Soren said, the state government will provide treatment and other assistance to the victims, and ordered a high-level inquiry into both the incidents. Notably, three people died in the cable rope incident in Deogarh, whereas in Lohardaga, a man succumbed to his injuries.

Telangana CM KCR To Extend Financial Aid To Kin Of Galwan Martyrs: Jharkhand
Telangana CM KCR will visit Jharkhand to pay tributes andprovide financial support to the jawans, who were killed in a clash with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley, on March 4 . Rao will provide a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to family members. Meanwhile, Rao will also meet Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren. Earlier, the Telangana government extended the support to Colonel Santosh and other 19 Army personnel.

Schools To Reopen From March 7, Except for 7 Districts: Jharkhand
The Jharkhand Government announced to reopen schools from March 7 as the COVID-19 cases declined in the state. In addition, schools will remain shut in districts with higher number of COVID-19 cases like Ranchi, East Singhbhum, Chatra, Deoghar, Saraikela, Simdega, and Bokaro. BPL Families To Get 25/L Subsidy On Fuel Prices:Jharkhand
Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren announced that Below Poverty Line (BPL) families will get a subsidy of Rs 25 per litre on petrol and diesel prices every month, from January 26. The exempted amount of Rs 250 will be received by the beneficiary via a direct benefit transfer system to their bank account. The scheme is to benefit two-wheeler riders and farmers, who operate pumps for agricultural purposes in the State.

J'khand Writes To Centre, Seeks Approval To Buy Remdesivir From Bangladesh
The Jharkhand government has requested the Centre to allow it to import Remdesivir drug from Bangladesh. Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated that the state government is in talks with some drug manufacturers in Bangladesh to buy around 50,000 vials of the COVID-19 drug for emergency utilization. The supply of Remdesivir has fallen short is several other states across the country owing to the second wave of the COVID-19.

Jharkhand To Bring Back Dhoti-Saree Scheme; Allots Rs 200 Cr For Project
The Jharkhand government is set to bring back the Dhoti-Saree Scheme in the state. Under the scheme, about 57.10 lakh families will get one dhoti and one saree twice a year at a subsidized price of Rs 10 per piece. Reportedly, the government has planned to spend Rs 200 crore for the scheme. The scheme, initially launched in 2014 by Hemant Soren, was discontinued in 2015.
