Vedanta To Invest Rs 25,000 Crores In Odisha, Signs MoU

Vedanta Resources announced an investment of Rs 25,000 crore for the expansion of its aluminium, ferrochrome and mining business in Odisha. The decision to have investment in "Make in Odisha" initiative was made on September 16, after the Vedanta representative met with Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik. Vedanta already has the single largest investment of Rs 80,000 crore in the state and its quantum of investment contributes 4% GDP.

2 Died In Chhatra Bazar Bridge Collapse; CM Expresses Grief & Announces Ex-Gratia

As many as two persons were killed due to the collapse of the Old Chhatra Bazar Bridge in Cuttack. Expressing grief to the bereaved family, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh. Meanwhile, CM has directed the authority provide proper medical facilities to the injured and wished them a speedy recovery. In addition, an order of high level Revenue Divisional Commissioner inquiry in the matter.

India’s First Indoor Athletic Stadium To Be Built In Bhubnewar: CM Naveen Patnaik

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik undertook a ground assessment of the works for the indoor athletic stadium project at the Kalinga Stadium complex in Bhubaneswar. “This indoor athletic facility will be a major boost for the development of athletics in India and will become the hub to create champions in coming years,'' stated Patnaik. Notably, the indoor athletic stadium is being built at a cost of Rs 120 crore.

CM Patnaik Inaugurates Odisha's Longest Bridge: Cuttack

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on December 21, inaugurated bridge over Mahanadi River at Gopinathpur in Cuttack. The 'T' shaped 3.4 km, the longest bridge of Odisha has been built at a cost of Rs 111 crores, connecting Shrighnath Temple. It will reduce the distance between Badamba and Baideshwar, Banki by 45 km, benefiting over 5 lakh people, developing tourism, agriculture in the region, reported officials.

Odisha CM Grants Ex-Gratia Of Rs 2 Lakh To Families Of 4 Accident Victims

Following a road accident on August 13 in Odisha's Bisamakatak, the CM Naveen Patnaik announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the deceased on August 15. Wishing the speedy recovery to the injured one, the CM also announced to provide free treatment to them. Reportedly, four died and two were injured during a collision between an ambulance and a truck.

Odisha Issues Smart Health Cards To Avail Hassle-Free Treatment

On the account of the independence day celebration, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik will issue Smart Health Cards under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, the first state in India to provide the benefit. The scheme will benefit 3.5 crore people in the state. "This initiative will transform the health service delivery system and create history in the health sector of the country", Patnaik said.

First City In India To Provide 24/7 Water Supply: Puri

Odisha's Puri became the first city in India to provide a 24/7 drinking water supply to the 2.5 lakh population and 2 crore tourists in the city. Inaugurating the ''Drink From Tap'' mission, CM Naveen Patnaik said, ''It's been my dream to provide piped water to every household in Odisha.'' The government has also built 120 drinking water fountains for pilgrims and is looking to increase the mission to 16 cities.
