CM Stalin Appeals To EAM, Requesting Help In Releasing Fishermen From Sri Lankan Navy
MK Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, urged on July 4 that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar take urgent steps for the immediate release of 12 Indian fishermen detained by the Sri Lankan Navy. Seven of the 12 detained Indian fishermen are from Tamil Nadu, while five are from Puducherry. He also stated Tamil Nadu fishermen had lately started fishing following a 61-day yearly prohibition that concluded on June 15.

R Priya Takes Oath As Mayor Of Chennai, Thanks CM M K Stalin
Chennai's newly appointed mayor R Priya extended her greetings to CM M K Stalin on March 4, after taking oath. "I am a Dalit Woman and the CM has given me the position of Mayor of Chennai Corporation. I am thankful to him," Priya said. She is the first Dalit and youngest woman, who became Chennai's Mayor, after almost a decade. Furthermore, Priya won civic polls from ward 74 (Mangalapuram).
