To investigate the January 22 fire incident of Mumbai's Kamala building, the State Government, formed a four member committee. Rs 5 Lakh Compensation For Mumbai Fire Incident Victims: Maharashtra Govt
Reviewing the major fire mishap at a residential building, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray announced an ex-gratia worth Rs 5 lakh. The amount was announced to the families of seven victims, who lost lives. Notably, 23 people injured and seven died in the fire incident, which happened on January 22, at 7:30 am, at Kamala Building near Bhatia Hospital, Mumbai. The authority took the matter and launched an investigation.

CM Uddhav Thackeray Successfully Completes Clinical Cervical Surgery
Doctors of the H N Reliance Hospital on November 12 said that the cervical spine surgery of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has been successfully completed in Mumbai. The 61-year-old leader was admitted to the hospital after complaining of severe neck pain on November 10. Reportedly, he has now been shifted to a ward. ''The doctors said he was stable during the surgery and has been doing well,'' reported PTI.

Maharastra CM To Hold Meeting To Assess COVID-19 Situation
Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray will chair a meeting with the Covid-19 task force, in order to review the current Covid-19 situation on October 18 at 3 PM. The state has reported over 1700 fresh cases, which totals the tally to more than 65,00,000 cases. However, the state has an impressive recovery rate of 97.39%, and the fatality rate stands at 2.12%. Furthermore, the state has 28,631 active cases currently.

Coronavirus Cases Increase By 50%; Officials Indicate Mild 3rd Wave In Mumbai
Mumbai witnessed a spike in Covid cases, about 50% in the first 17 September days in comparison to August. However, mortality due to Covid has decreased by 38%. From September 1 to 17, almost 7,407 covid cases have been reported, compared to August's 4,943 cases. Reportedly, the testing has increased by 13%, indicating that cases are rising. Also, a higher vaccination rate reduces the chances of a "destructive third wave".

QR Passes For Mumbaikars To Board Local Trains: Mayor Kishori Pednekar
Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar informed on August 10 that QR passes will be available to fully vaccinated Mumbaikars at 65 railway stations allowing them to board local trains from August 15. The QR codes will aid the railway authorities to substantiate the authenticity of people traveling in local trains.
