Varanasi To Raise Fund Through Municipal Bonds; Invest on Infrastructure
Varanasi is all set to become the second city in Uttar Pradesh to raise fund through the municipal bonds. In order to make Varanasi self-reliant, the civic body has been given a target of accumulating Rs 200 crore through these bonds. The funds solicited from the bonds will be invested in numerous infrastructure and development schemes, said the state government. The decision is presumed to improve the image of the civic body in public.

UP Minister's Brother Booked; Uses Photos Of PM, CM For Mobile Promotion
For allegedly using pictures of PM Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath for promoting a mobile brand, UP Police has booked the brother of state minister Kapil Dev Agarwal. Agarwal's brother, Lalit Agarwal, was booked on December 26 at Hazratganj police station, Lucknow for cheating. While UP Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu demanded CBI inquiry, Kapil Agarwal said, "There is no merit in the case".

Gas Leak At IFFCO Phulpur Plant In Uttar Pradesh Kills Two People

Construction Of Ram Temple Likely To Begin In January 2021
Concluding a two-day meeting, the 'Shree Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust' on December 8 hinted that the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya might begin on January 15, 2021. The meeting held by the trust members also included construction-experts from IIT Roorkee, IIT Madras, L&T, and Tata Consulting Engineers Limited. One of the trustees said that CM Yogi Adityanath wanted the premises to be developed to resemble a Vedic city.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the Agra Metro construction on December 7. The double-corridor project stretching to a length of 29.4 kilometres will connect the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Sikandra with rail and bus terminus. 15-year-old Boy Threatens To "Blow Up" UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Arrested
The Uttar Pradesh Police have taken a 15-year-old boy from Agra into custody after he allegedly threatened to "blow up" the state CM Yogi Adityanath. Reportedly, the accused had sent the threatening WhatsApp message on the state’s 112 helpline number. An FIR has been registered against the boy and he was presented before the Juvenile Board. Reportedly, the boy's family was unaware of this incident and they termed it "childish".
