Mumbai Taximen Union Threatens To Go On Strike, Demands Fare Hike By Rs 10

Mumbai Taximen’s union has issued warning to the state government for possible strikes, demanding for a fare hike by Rs 10. The union warned stating that if the demands weren’t met, taxi and auto drivers would go on strike on September 15. The union cited inflated costs of CNG. The union also claimed that the daily earnings of auto-rickshaw drivers have been dropped by Rs 250-300.

Mumbai Raises CNG Prices By Rs 6 Per Kg, PNG Prices By Rs 4 Per Unit With Immediate Effect

Mahanagar Gas (MGL), a Mumbai-based gas distributor, has announced a second price increase of Rs 6 per kilogram for compressed natural gas (CNG) and Rs 4 per unit for piped natural gas (PNG), both effective immediately. The price increase coincides with growing natural gas prices at the source, both globally and for domestically drilled gas. This is the sixth increase in prices since April of this year.

CNG Prices Hike For 12th Time In 2 Months; Now Costs Rs 73.61 Per Kg In Delhi

CNG prices have increased in the national capital, yet again. On May 16, the cost of CNG has been increased by Rs 2 per Kg. This is the 12th increament in the price in the last two months, with which, CNG now costs Rs 73.61 per kg, up from Rs 71.61 per kg. On the whole, the prices have risen by Rs 17.6 per kg in the past two months.

IGL Hikes CNG Price By Rs 2, Now Costs Rs 73.61 Per KG In Delhi

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is now costlier after Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) increased the price by Rs 2. In Delhi-NCR, CNG now costs Rs 73.61 per kg, after the latest price hike. In Noida, CNG costs Rs 76.17 per kg, and Rs 81.94 per kg in Gurugram. CNG now costs Rs 84.07 in Rewari, Rs 82.27 in Karnal, Rs 85.40 in Kanpur and Rs 83.88 in Ajmer

Delhi Govt To Allows Entry OF Vehicle Run On CNG From Nov 27

The Delhi Government announced to allow entry of electric vehicles and CNG vehicles in Delhi from November 27. In order to reduce air pollution, the AAP Government had imposed a ban on the entry of vehicles running on other fuels on November 22. The implemented measure would be in effect till December 3. In addition, schools, colleges, and other educational institutions will be shut until November 28.

Prices For CNG, PNG Hiked In Delhi-NCR By Indraprastha Gas

The prices for CNG and PNG have again been increased by Indraprastha Gas Ltd in Delhi and the National Capital Region on October 12 at 6 AM. Following the hike, one kg CNG costs Rs 49.76, and PNG stands at Rs 35.11 per SCM in Delhi. While in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad, CNG will be sold at Rs 56.02 per kg and PNG at Rs 34.86 per SCM.

WB's Transport Department Introduces 2 CNG-Powered Buses In Kolkata

CNG-aided buses have been introduced in Kolkata on August 10 to ferry people from Newtown to Howrah. Initially, the introduction of two buses by the state’s transport department is to mitigate pollution and rising diesel costs. “Apart from reducing pollution levels, the operational costs of running buses will come down significantly (once battery- or CNG-powered vehicles are introduced),” said Firhad Hakim, WB Transport Minister.

PMC Plans To Buy 50 CNG Buses To Minimize Use Of Private Vehicles

In an attempt to minimize private vehicle usage, the Pune Municipal Corporation has planned to acquire 50 CNG buses to be run in populated locations. Moreover, the PMC announced an initiative to travel the whole day in the city buses for Rs 10. Besides, they have planned to purchase busses for the scheme. Reportedly, the scheme, which was slated for April 2020, was not released due to the pandemic.
