Amazon Rainforest Emits Billion Tonnes Of CO2 A Year: Scientists

Scientists have discovered that the Amazon rainforest is emitting more CO2 than it absorbs. The study reported that a billion tonnes of CO2 are emitted by the Amazon rainforest every year. "Forest burning produces around three times more CO2 than the forest absorbs," said Luciana Gatti, who led the research. 30% of deforestation shows 10 times higher CO2 emission than deforestation which is lower than 20%, said Gatti.
