Coastal Area

Heavy rains lashed through the coastal areas of Karnataka on June 29 and 30. The rainfalls resulted in inundated roads and water entering low-lying areas and buildings. Furthermore, roads were damaged and traffic was disrupted. IMD issued an 'orange alert' to Karnataka's coastal regions on June 30, and a 'yellow alert' for the rest of the week. Also, fishermen from Mangalore to Karwa have been warned of high waves.
