Coimbatore Schools & Colleges To Introduce Anti-Drug Clubs

Following the increased threat of drug usage among students, the Coimbatore district government has directed that all schools and institutions establish anti-drug societies. The development of these clubs will be assisted by NCC, NSS, and scout teams. In addition, the district administration will establish a drug coordination cell to work with stakeholder agencies such as police, excise, and health to combat drug misuse.

13 Year Old Arnav Sivram Becomes Youngest To Learn 17 Computer Language

Arnav Sivram from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, is the youngest one to have learnt 17 computer languages at the age of 13. He said, he started learning computer languages in the fourth standard. He also revealed that he has an aim to create Artificial intelligence for auto-pilot in India with a low investment. “I have learnt 17 programming languages including Java and Python,” said the 13-year-old, who received an award too.

Sloth Bear Attack Leaves 1 Tea Estate Worker Injured In Tamil Nadu's Valparai

In Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore district, a sloth bear attack has left one tea estate worker from Jharkhand injured, in Valparai. Mukta Murmu (23), the victim, suffered injuries to his head and hands, and has been admitted to the Pollachi government hospital for treatment. The incident reportedly occurred at around 12:10 pm, when he was working at the estate. The beat left the spot after other workers arrived.

18-Year-Old Commits Suicide, Police Suspects Fail Relationship

According to reports, An 18-year-old girl committed suicide at a NEET coaching center in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. As per police, the suspected reason for the suicide could be a failed relationship. The girl was in a relationship with a student at the coaching center. However, the parents of the boy had asked him to return to his home in Madurai which lead to the suicide of the girl.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested Saravanan, also known as 'Benz‘ Saravanan, proprietor of Benz Vacations Club, for cheating a Coimbatore-based hotelier of Rs 80 lakh. As per reports, Sabari Ganesh of Alpha Hotels and Restaurants, wanted to launch a resto-bar in Chennai in 2018 when Saravanan approached him claiming that he had a license for the resto-bar. All India Radio (AIR) Station in Coimbatore received bomb threats through a post-card, on February 24. Reportedly, the threat was issued for not playing the songs of Tamil actor and former Chief Minister of the state M G Ramachandran (MGR), on his birth anniversary on January 17. TN Rains: Tomato Prices Increase, Crosses Rs 100/Kg In Chennai

Amidst widespread rains in the southern states of the country, tomatoes prices have increased, crossing Rs 100 per kg in most areas. According to government data, the retail price of tomatoes per kg in Chennai was Rs 100, while it was Rs 119 and Rs 103 in Ramanathapuram and Tirunelveli respectively. Moreover, tomatoes were sold at Rs 94 per kg in Cuddalore, and Rs 90 per kg in Coimbatore.

Paintings Of 8 Coimbatore Trans Artists Selected For Exhibition In Florida

As many as eight paintings of transgender artists have been chosen for an exhibition. The exhibition will be held at the University of South Florida, United States of America. Reportedly, the exhibition will be continued for six months from November 20, 2021 to April 20, 2021. One of the artists, Kalki Subramaniam said, "Over 100 trans people from across the world are participating."
