IMD Predicts Severe Cold, Rainfall And Dense Fog In North Region
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued "severe cold" warning across North India. Due to cyclonic circulations from Himalayas are expected to move towards North West, resulting moderate-light rainfall in West Bengal, Sikkim and Delhi. UP, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajastha and other northern region of India are expected to face severe cold, below 5° Celsius temperature and dense fog, in isolated pockets, till February 7.

Temperature In Kupwara Drops To -4.4°C, Snowfall Expected In Kashmir
Temperature in the Kashmir valley will drop further over the next few days, said officials on December 30. Reportedly, the minimum temperature in Kupwara in north Kashmir reached minus 4.4 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department also predicted light rain/snow at a few places for two days starting from January 1. However, the valley is witnessing Chilla-i-Kalan or the harshest 40-day winter which begins on December 21.

IMD Predicts Cold Waves In Northwestern States Till Jan 7
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on December 29, predicted cold wave in northwestern states, including Delhi, Haryana & Punjab. "Cold wave conditions in isolated pockets over northwest India," tweeted IMD. Delhi Records Lowest Temperature Of This Winter Season
Delhi recorded a temperature of 3.2 degrees Celsius on December 20. It's the lowest temperature for this 'winter season', reported UNI. However, the IMD issued a 'yellow alert' (severely bad weather) in the National Capital, stating cold waves will continue along with drizzling on December 24 and 25. Reportedly, the morning temperature is recorded at 3° and it is expected to go upto 19°.
