HDFC Bank Becomes 1st Bank To Launch UPI QR Code
HDFC Bank on July 13, said it has launched a UPI QR code interoperable with India’s digital rupee or central bank digital currency (CBDC.) With this, it becomes the first commercial lender in India to do so. With this, customers and merchants can make payments using digital rupee through this UPI QR code. “HDFC Bank today announced the launch of UPI QR code interoperable," said HDFC in a statement.

Tata Motors Announces Price Hike For Commercial Vehicles, In Effect From July 1
Tata Motors has announced a price hike in its commercial vehicle range, starting from July 1, 2022. According to sources, the increase in price will be in the range of 1.5-2.5%, depending upon model and size of vehicle. The decision to hike prices came amid extensive measures to absorb a significant portion of the increased input costs in manufacturing. Furthermore, Tata Motors witnessed a steep rise in overall input costs.

Karnataka Permits Shops To Operate 24x7; Fixes Worktime For Employees
To provide stimulus to the economic growth, the Karnataka government on January 2 allowed shops and commercial establishments with 10 or more employees to operate 24x7. Moreover, the order fixed 8-hour-a-day and 48 hour-per-week shifts for each employee. Besides, the maximum work time for a day must not exceed 10 hours, including overtime. Entitling a one-day week-off, the government has asked to not employ women after 8 PM.
