Haryana Civic Polls On June 19, Announces Election Commissioner
Haryana is all set to conduct municipal elections for 46 civic bodies on June 19. The Haryana State Election Commissioner Dhanpat Singh announced the schedule on May 23, and said, the counting of votes for municipal elections will be on June 22. Furthermore, the nomination process will begin on May 30 and end on June 4, scrutiny and withdrawal will be on June 6 and 7, respectively.

Thane Civic Body Warns Staff To Not Switch Off Phones During Emergency
Mumbai’s Thane Municipal Corporation has warned the civic body officials not to switch off their phones during emergencies citing that it obstructs the rescue operations. The decision came after several officers were identified of either switching off or not responding to the calls by disaster management cell.
