Delhi Reports 53 New Cases Without Travel History, Tally At 124: Delhi Govt
Delhi Government confirmed 53 new Omicron, the new variant of COVID-19 cases, on December 27. Notably, new cases reported does not have any international travel history or direct contact with Omicron cases, alarming a community transmission. "We need to be sure, we will come to know in a day," said Government official, regarding the cases. Meanwhile, with new cases, Omicron tally in the national capital reached to 142, till date.

Omicron Doubles In 1.5 to 3 Days In Local Affected Areas: WHO
Covid-19's new variant Omicron doubled in 1.5 to 3 days in areas showing community transmission. "Omicron is spreading rapidly in countries with high levels of population immunity. West Bengal CM Requests People to Be Safe During Festive Season
The West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee requested people to avoid stepping out unnecessarily during the Durga puja festival, as discussed in the cabinet meeting. "I request you all not to go out shopping," said the CM. While urging people to take care ahead of the festive season, she mentioned that community transmissions were reported in the state. She also advised people to adhere to COVID-19 norms while visiting pandals.
