Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi Says This On Women's Reservation Bill
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on September 22, demanded that the women's reservation bill be implemented immediately and alleged that the government does not want to do this while distracting from the demand for caste census. The Women's Reservation Bill is a good thing, but two "footnotes" of census and delimitation have been attached, Gandhi told a press conference here a day after the Women's reservation bill was passed by Parliament.

Former Kerala CM Oommeni Chandy Passes Away At 79
Oommen Chandy (79,) the former Kerala CM and veteran Congress leader died in the wee hours of July 18. He was suffering from throat cancer and died at private hospital in Bengaluru. Furthermore, the last rites of Oommeni Chandy are scheduled to be held in Puthuppally, Kerala with full state honours on July 19. Meanwhile, speaking of Chandy's achievement, Oommen scripted history and was a sitting legislator for 53 years.

Navjot Singh Sidhu To Be Released From Jail On April 1
Former Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu is to release from Patiala Jail, on April 1. Notably, Sidhu was lodged in jail, serving one-year imprisonment in a 1998 road rage case, which led to the death of one. The news of Navjot Singh's release was made official on his Twitter handle. "This is to inform everyone that Sardar Navjot Singh Sidhu will be released from Patiala Jail tomorrow," read the tweet.

Rajasthan CM Cancels His Udaipur, Ahmedabad Tour, Confirms CMO
Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has cancelled his Udaipur, Abu Road and Ahmedabad tour scheduled on August 3 and 4, amid his ill health. On August 2, the Rajasthan Chief Minister's Office (CMO) issued an official statement, after the doctors monitoring Gehlot's health advised him rest for next few days. Notably, Gehlot is suffering from viral infection, since the past few days.

Harinarayan Gupta, a Congress politician running for municipal council in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa, perished on July 17 after learning of his election defeat. However, Akhilesh Gupta, an independent candidate, beat him by 14 votes. Harinarayan Gupta was also the panchayat president of the Hanumana Congress unit. According to the results, the BJP won in Burhanpur, Satna, Khandwa, and Sagar, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won in Singrauli.
