Supreme Court Turns 71; Virtually Heard 43,713 Cases During COVID-19
Turning 71 on January 28, the Supreme Court in its statement said it has been protecting rights and liberties while abiding to the rule of law and constitutional values since its genesis in 1950. Supreme Court: Right to Protest Should Not Obstruct Right to Movement
The Supreme Court on September 21 stated that people's right to protest is not absolute. The bench stated that there should be a balance between the "Right to Protest" and the "Right to Movement" of people. The court further said, "There cannot be a universal policy because situations and facts are different every time." The bench opined this while hearing a case related to the CAA-NPR-NRC protests in January.
