OTT Must Be Regulated In India, Says RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat expressed his concern saying uncontrolled content on OTT platforms could affect the country at the Vijayadashami event in Maharashtra's Nagpur. “After the outbreak of the pandemic, nearly every child has a mobile phone and what they watch on their cellphones is not controlled,” he said. He further said parents must protect their children instead of relying on the government to take action.

Govt Devises 3-Tier Check Over OTT, Social Media Content, Online News

The Centre has proposed a three-tier check to regulate the OTT platform content. The 30-page draft titled 'Information Technology (Guidelines for Intermediaries and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021' seeks the OTT-streamed shows to carry U (universal) or A (adult) ratings.
