E-Amrit, a web portal on electric vehicles was launched by the Central Government during the COP26 Summit in Glasgow, United Kingdom. It is reported to be the single point of contact for all information about electric vehicles including purchase, investment opportunities, guidelines, and subsidies of electric vehicles. Notably, more features were reported to be added to the portal to make it user-friendly and interactive. 

The UK and India on November 2, announced a proposal to strengthen links across the world's electricity power systems to stimulate the transition to green energy. In the COP26 climate talks held in Glasgow on November 1, over 100 countries promised to end deforestation and land degradation by the end of 2030. ''We will have a chance to end humanity's long history as nature's conqueror, and instead become its custodian,'' said UK PM Boris Johnson. Reportedly, forests help to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 30%, preventing the climate from getting warm. 

The heads of the world's biggest greenhouse gas emitters will gather in Glasgow for the COP26 climate summit, on October 31 to November 12. PM Modi along with other leaders will join the summit and take measures to reduce carbon emissions. However, Chinese President Xi Jinping will not be attending the summit due to rising Covid-19 cases in the country.
