JuJug Jeeyo Faces Legal Copyright Infringement Case For Storyline

Ahead of the release, the "JugJug Jeeyo" team faced a legal copyright infringement case, filed by a Ranchi-based writer Vishal Singh.  On June 20, he sued Viacom 18 Studios, Dharma Production, for using plot of his story "Punny Rani". The matter has been listed for review before Judge MC Jha, who will see the film and decide. Meanwhile, for violation of the copyright act, Singh demanded a Rs 1.5 crore.

Delhi's Dwarka Court Dismisses Anticipatory Bail Plea Of Law Book Publisher Shailendar Singhal

A plea seeking anticipatory bail for publisher Shailendar Singhal in a copyright case, has been dismissed by Delhi's Dwarka court, on June 7. Singhal has been lodged in a "violation of copyright" case by Delhi police, after receiving a complaint. According to the complainant Advocate Tarun Narang, the accused who co-authored a law book with him, revised the book and removed his name without obtaining his consent.

Filmmaker Suneel Darshan Files FIR Against Google CEO Sundar Pichai

Filmmaker Suneel Darshan filed an FIR against Google CEO Sundar Pichai and five other employees of the tech company. Darshan alleged that the company was uploading his movie "Ek Haseena Thi, Ek Deewana Tha" without copyrights. The movie director said, despite several complaints, the movie is still available on YouTube, making money with millions of views. The Mumbai police registered FIR as per Mumbai HC directions.

South African Model Sues Twitter For $10 Million Over Copyright Issue

Genevieve Morton, a ''Sports Illustrated'' swimsuit Model, has filed a Copyright infringement lawsuit against Twitter for $10 million. Reportedly, Morton was unpleased with her cropped photos being posted by an unauthorized account and Twitter was slow to take them down. However, Twitter suspended the account namely @city_tits but Morton sought at least $150,000 for 67 likes on two of her photos that were used by the unauthorized account.

FIR Filed Against Kangana Ranaut For Copyright Infringement

An FIR on copyright violation has been lodged against Kangana Ranaut upon a directive from Mumbai local court. Reportedly, Kangana did not take consent or acquired rights from author Ashish Kaul to convert his story into 'Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda' film. Moreover, Kaul alleged that he requested Kangana to write a foreword for his original book 'Didda - Kashmir Ki Yodha Rani', but she never responded.
