Rajasthan: Woman Tests COVID-19 Positive For 31 Times In Past Five Months

US Nods To First Self Testing Covid Kit; Results in 30 Minutes

Decreasing the strain on National testing capabilities the US government gave a green flag to self-testing COVID kit in the US. The test kit prepared by Lucira Health Inc. was given an emergency authorization on November 17 by the Food and Drug Administration. The test provides results in less than 30 minutes and is completely self-controlled. However, due to human error and false reports self-testing kits are not used widely.

Finland Employs Sniffer Dogs To Detect Coronavirus

Finland has deployed sniffer dogs at the Helsinki Airport on a four-month trial basis, to detect COVID-19. Reportedly, the travelers are asked to swipe their skin against a wipe, which is passed on to the sniffer dogs, who take ten seconds to detect the virus, presenting the results through signs such as scratching a paw, laying down, or barking. Passengers who test positive are directed to take the RT-PCR test for confirmation.

Delhi: Police Arrest Doctor Accused of Forging COVID-19 Test Reports

Kush B Parashar, a doctor from Delhi, is accused of forging COVID-19 test reports. The police said that the doctor and his assistant were collecting samples of patients on the false pretext of COVID-19 tests. Reportedly, he would then forge the reports of prominent diagnostic labs and issue them to the patients. Both the doctor and his assistant, Amit Singh, have been arrested.

United Kingdom: Trials Underway for 20-Minute Coronavirus Test

In order to expedite the COVID-19 testing, the United Kingdom is planning to introduce new ways, one of which will give results in less than 20 minutes. Notably, the government has decided to expand trials of two new tests: no-swab saliva test and 20-minute test. Besides, the trials are being run on the benefits of repeat testing of asymptomatic patients. Critics have, reportedly, raised concern that existing systems are insufficient.
